    Hello.  I would like to welcome you all to, That Is Metal!  If this isn’t the most metal blog you’ve ever been to, then tell me where the most metal blog is so I can kick their ass!  This is the first post I am making, with many more to come.  This blog is all about being able to state your opinion on the music industry today.  I want you all to really let loose and let everybody know what you think of Miley Cyrus, and what a travesty she is to this world.  Where do you think the music industry is headed next?  When is Britney Spears going to grow her hair back?  Where in the world is Michael Jackson at this point?  Why am I so obsessed with Dream Theater?  I want this blog to help answer all of your questions related to the music industry, and also to spark new ideas to be talked about in the Music Industry…so start blogging now!!!

    She is just another piece of meat for the industry to eat up and spit out. She had a great thing going for herself on her Hannah Montana show, but then she goes and does this Miley Cyrus thing to make some extra money and in return she is kicked down by the media once again just like the majority of most pop stars these days. In this day an age, anybody who does too much too quickly, gets punished by the industry. They own her. Annd then the media starts to criticize and chew her up. She pull her apart. She took a couple of pictures with her father a month or so ago. Those pictures might not have meant anything to her, but who made the front page on AOL for "sicko"! Musicians are getting more and more angry, because of people like Miley Cyrus. They put out a bad name for rockers everywhere because they do stupid stunts like taking pictures with their father with half their clothes off. The industry doesn't need any more travesties like Miley in the scene. It only makes our lives harder!

    Word, it seems that you and Louis have something in common. I have a question for both Louis and the rest of the music crew... Where can I learn about all the different types of music? I was going through the 400 series channels (on Comcast) and see Adult Alternative, Alternative, Retro-Active, Smooth Jazz, Jazz and more! What do they all mean?

    Jesse, there are many websites you can look at that will tell you about all the different genres. Here are a couple: http://www.blurtit.com/q813286.html http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_music_genres The second link is probably the best one I could find for you. Once you read about these genre's, one of the best things you can do, is listen to them. You don't necessarily need to like them, but to appreciate them is another story. You should listen to a couple of different artists in each genre, and begin to relate them to each other, so that you see the reasoning of why they are in that specific genre. Also something to note, a lot of music can be put into multiple genre's. That is the best answer I could give you. Maybe Word could point you in a direction as well.
